Greg Wakeham has been part of the Australian insurance industry for over 30 years as a broker, emergency management consultant, risk and safety consultant and finally risk surveyor.

Greg commenced his career as an insurance broker at Marsh and later at Chambers Gallop McMahon. During this time, he was responsible for a range of major clients, including:

• Major Sports Facilities Authority (QLD)

• Goodman Fielder

• Etihad (Marvel) Stadium, Melbourne

• Sydney Olympic Stadium (ANZ Stadium)

• Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

• Sydney Cricket Ground

• Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre

• Melbourne Cricket Ground

• Centennial & Moore Parks Trust

While acting as the broker for Sydney Olympic Stadium, Greg was a member of the stadium’s emergency committee. This led him to retrain as an emergency management consultant and co-create a risk and emergency consulting business.

Through this business, Greg was responsible for designing and implementing risk and emergency management plans for clients including:

• Arts Centre Melbourne

• Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (WA)

• Museum Victoria

• The Crusty Demons – Super X Australia

• Rydges Hotel Sydney Airport

• Future Music Festival

• Queensland Performing Arts Centre

• 100 Years of Anzac

Greg later formed a partnership with Phil Thompson, a highly experienced risk engineering professional. Greg and Phil operated Thompson Piron Risk Management (now The90) together prior to Phil’s retirement in 2016.

Greg has continued to operate The 90, providing risk management consulting and surveys across a broad range of industries for global and local insurers and brokers.
